Mr Joseph Yeo is a very experienced trainer with enough accolades gathered during his career, so i would rather focus on what I like about him - and it took me a couple of sessions to realize the value of that - his unwavering position that it is our mistakes, not our pup’s that we make in training her.. and his attention to detail in how he trains us, and his heart always working in the interest of my pup. I am now ok to be trained first, corrected when I make mistakes so that I can train my pup. It is hard at my age (63) but I must say that it is a refreshing change in mindset that I needed to make. We engaged Joseph for our 3 months old Golden Retriever, as he came in highly recommended from multiple sources. While I personally did countless hours of research and knowledge building around training (for over 2 yrs before getting a dog), having Joseph guide us was a fantastic experience. Few things that stood out 1. There is a difference between watching videos and learning vs an actual trainer on your specific dog (every dog is different). 2. Joseph is a firm believer in positive reinforcement. To him, the well being of the dog is as important as the well being of the humans in the family. 3. He teaches you dog psychology. He explains in a very logical manner what the dog is “thinking” and “why” it is doing what it is doing. It is different from just obedience training and the dog able to follow commands. His approach is holistic and focussed on how to create a balanced and loving family dog, rather than a dog who sits/stands/follows like a robot. 4. He is always reminding you and training you to keep it balanced and not forget the importance of a “happy dog”, who follows because he wants to, not because he has to.
